IMPORTANT DATES FOR CHANGES
Monday 22 December 2008 - last day for summer applications and enrolments.
Friday 2 January (summer census date) - last day to change your summer units. Withdrawal from a summer unit by this date will result in "Early Withdrawn" status and eligibility for a full refund of tuition fees.
Friday 9 January - last day to withdraw without failure from a summer unit - "Withdrawn" status but no refund of fees.
If you withdraw from a unit after 9 January you will receive a Fail grade (FW).
If you believe that your withdrawal has been caused by exceptional circumstances, please contact the Centre for Open Education for further advice. You can find a definition of exceptional circumstances in part 1 of the online Summer Handbook.
Current Macquarie Students
The best and quickest way to change your program is through eStudent, which will continue to be available during the period when the Centre is closed for holidays.
If the change means that you owe extra fees you must pay them at the time that you make the change to avoid a $200 late payment fee.
If you withdraw online by the Summer census date (2 January) from a unit for which you have already paid, your student fees account will be in credit. This amount can be left there for next semester, or you can ask for a refund - http://www.ofs.mq.edu.au/student_finances/refund.htm
If for some reason you are unable to make the change on eStudent, you may need to print off the Summer Course Change of Unit Enrolment form (link below) and bring or fax or email it to the Centre. You must make sure that the form reaches the Centre no later than 2 January. The Centre will be closed between midday on 24 Dec and 1 January but you can fax or email (as an attachment) your forms to us during that time. The Centre re-opens on Friday 2 January.
Non-Macquarie Students (including former Macquarie Students)
Changes of unit, including withdrawals, must be made with a Summer Course Change of Unit Enrolment form. Please note that the date the Centre receives written notification of your request to change your unit is the effective date of the change.
You can bring the form to the Centre up till 12 noon Wednesday 24 December, or again on Friday 2 January when the Centre will re-open, or you can fax it or send it as an email attachment at any time, including during the holiday period when the Centre is closed.
