Examinations and Graduation

Examinations

Dates for Summer Course examinations will be published later for each Summer Course unit. Room locations will be advised in classes and also on the website. You are strongly advised to check the class timetable for your unit/s in the Summer Course Schedule in case there are last-minute changes to times or locations.

Special Consideration for Examinations

If you are unable to attend your exam because of unavoidable disruption, or before or during an exam you are affected by illness or other causes beyond your control which you believe have prejudiced your performance, you may apply for special consideration.

All requests for special consideration must be lodged with the Student Enquiry Service (SES) on Level 1 of the Lincoln Building.

The 2009 Request for Special Consideration form will be available on the web from early January 2009.

Requests for special consideration in Summer Course Program units must be lodged within two (2) working days after the date of the examination for the unit, or the date of the submission of the final assignment/take-home examination.

Results

Summer results will be published progressively on eStudent on Thursday 19 February.

Non-Macquarie students who have undertaken summer course units may ask for an official transcript of their results to be sent to their home institution free of charge. Requests for official transcripts should be sent to sesinfo@mq.edu.au and must include name, student number and full mailing address. Requests for result notifications should be sent to apsinfo@mq.edu.au and must include a name and full mailing address.

Appeals Against Grades

Information on how to appeal against grades can be found at: http://www.deanofstudents.mq.edu.au/grades.htm

Graduation

Summer Course students who are completing their degree with their summer course units will graduate on a date to be determined in May 2009. It will not be possible for any students undertaking Summer Course units to graduate in April 2009.

If you expect to graduate in May or September 2009 you must lodge an I Expect to Complete My Program (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) form with the Student Enquiry Service by 2 January 2008.

If you do not wish to graduate at the interdisciplinary ceremony in May 2009 you should return the Request to Change Graduation Date or Venue form to the Student Enquiry Service by the date indicated on the form. This form will become available online from early January 2009 at www.graduation.mq.edu.au/ceremonies.htm
