Summer Course Program 2009

Applications for Summer Course program 2009 will open in early October.

General Program Information

Each year Macquarie University offers a number of selected units from its standard program in an intensive format, usually run over SIX weeks from early January to mid-February.

The Summer Course period in 2009 will run from 19 December 2008  to Friday 13 February 2009. Repeating students are expected to commence their revision and new students their preparation and preliminary reading work from 19 December 2008. Most face-to-face classes will commence in the week starting Monday 5 January 2009, though some may commence earlier.

In 2009 the units are drawn from the Divisions of Economic and Financial Studies, Humanities, Law, Society, Media, Culture and Philosophy, and Information and Communication Sciences.

Full details about the units offered in 2009 including fees, prerequisites, waivers, timetables and examination dates will be available shortly.

Most courses are not taught every day during that time, and some courses have limited or no on-campus instruction at all. Distance mode courses have compulsory on-campus sessions.

The Centre for Open Education

The Centre for Open Education co-ordinates the Summer Course Program and is the point of communication and contact with the University for students enrolling in the Summer Course program.

The Centre's normal hours of operation outside teaching weeks are: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. During teaching weeks the Centre is open 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday.
